Connecting for the Kingdom

At First Christian we offer several of ways that you can connect. From our annual Bethlehem Revisited to Love In Action, Education Ministry Teams to the Missions Team, there is a place for you.

We feel that every Christian should find ways to grow closer to God and advance the Kingdom. Because every member is a minister we provide opportunities for service and ministry.

Below is a list of some of the opportunities, but we hope that if you don't see a place for you that you will contact us with your ministry idea. After all it's about your place in His Kingdom.

Audio Visual Ministry – This ministry group oversees the care and upgrade of the audio-visual equipment as well as the operation of the sound system and video camera during services and activities.

Baptistery – This ministry group ensures the baptistery is ready for a baptism at any time which involves the regular cleaning of the baptistery. The laundering of towels, robes, and other baptistery items after a baptism is also part of this ministry.

Bethlehem Revisited – Every December we offer the surrounding area a three night event that reenacts what Bethlehem was like on the night Christ was born. It takes many individuals from all age groups for construction, acting, and behind the scene activities.

Building Coordination Ministry – Because our building is a host for multiple community events, this team supervises and makes recommendations on the use of the building for events such as weddings, parties, etc. Events in question are submitted for final approval by Elders.

Christian Education – Working with the Youth Minister, this team helps with the selection of a youth curriculum and coordinates Vacation Bible School, the Back to School Bash, and other family-related events.

Decorating Ministry – If you have an eye for interior design we could use your help in decorating the interior of the church for each current season or event.

Disability Ministry - This group stays in touch with our “differently-abled” brothers and sisters at the Carmi House and Lis’ House through occasional visits and Bible Study.

Facilities Management – Individuals in this ministry maintain the building and set up tables and chairs for various church functions as well as lock up on occasion.

Grounds Ministry – Throughout the year we rely on these servants to plant flowers, water and weed flower beds, and trim shrubs.

Hospitality Ministry – This team meets and greets all who enter First Christian Church, making them feel welcome while passing out bulletins, helping people to their seat, counting attendance, and cleaning area(s) after services.

Library Ministry – If you like organizing, here’s a team that catalogs all books in the library and looks for Christian-based reading material for all ages.

Love-in-Action – This team advances God’s Kingdom by working closely with the community and area schools to provide school supplies, food, and Christmas gifts to area children.

Meal Ministry – This group works together to provide meals each year for Easter Breakfast, Wednesday Night Meals, Funeral Dinners, and other special events. They additionally make sure the kitchen is fully stocked with supplies for all the various groups that meet at FCC throughout the year.

Missions Ministry – This ministry is responsible for receiving and distributing our mission donations (10% of our general fund giving). They also host an annual Missions Conference, keep in contact and encourage our missionaries, and prepare mission moments to share throughout the year with our congregation on Sunday mornings.
