Our Story

First Christian Carmi began in 1851 with twelve charter members who envisioned a church of Jesus Christ dedicated to simple New Testament Christianity. The church was originally located downtown, where the Carmi Senior Citizen's Center is currently located. In 1970, the church moved to the current location at the corner of Plum & Bohleber, and the "Ascension Window" seen in the picture to the right came from the old building to the new and it now resides in the Worship Center.

The church continues to thrive today thanks to generations of dedicated men and women who served and sacrificed for the cause of Christ.
